Camp History

Camp Frenda is located in the heart of the Muskoka vacation land and is approximately 200 km from Toronto. Camp Frenda, one of the oldest continuously-operating camps in Ontario, is owned and maintained by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Fred and Edna Hosking donated the original property by Deer Lake, and the camp’s name was derived by combining the first names of its donors. Eventually the Ontario Conference sold Frenda and purchased the present site, on Lake Rosseau near Port Carling, about eight kilometres from the village of Minnett.

The camp offers a well-proven camping program and has provided the ultimate summer experience for thousands of young people. During the off-season Camp Frenda provides opportunities for various groups to experience the beauty of the near-north in a setting conducive to spiritual renewal.
